Hi, I'm Lisa. A lifelong seeker, and a life coach (often business coach and occasional corporate coach) for 18 years, I've been all about looking within to guide life on the outside, for what seems like forever. It wasn't until a decade ago, though, that I discovered the greatest gift we human beings are blessed with. The body. Embodiment. The embodied life. And by that I mean the astounding wisdom and intelligence that lies below the neck - ever present, ever available, and always accurate.
I started African Dance classes when I was 51, after suddenly realizing that I was looking at a very short window on that lifelong dream! Then I discovered JourneyDance™, a transformational movement practice that basically changed my life. I became a facilitator and still do that now (the dance part of paintanddance.com). Through that I discovered the Painting from the Source™ process (Painting from the Soul™ is my version), which I trained in to facilitate, as well. I also went on a Vision Quest in the high desert in California, (and subsequently, did Vision Quest guide training) helping me see the astounding guidance that we have all around us, all the time.
Painting, dancing and the intelligence of nature have pretty much turned my world upside down, fortunately, so I have been able to see who I am much more clearly, which is CREATIVE and CONNECTED- as are you. And they have woven themselves deeply into my personal and professional life so that I live and work and contribute to life from a richer, more balanced and authentic place.
A word about......painting and dancing...............
What turned my world upside down is that I discovered that I can move, and I do art, simply by virtue of being human! Neither one of those things has anything to do with my talent in or ability to "paint" or "dance". They are just ways of expressing what is inside and must be expressed. Paint being brushed on paper, music moving body........no rules, no right or wrong way. (In Bali, they have no word for artist - because creativity is just a quality everyone has.) Just pure expression, and in that expression......an experience of FREEDOM and self understanding, like no other!
Freedom to be who we are is not only an inalienable right, I believe it is a moral imperative for this time in our evolution!
